Lessons

1st lesson learned today.  Natural light looks so much better than a ceiling light.  I took Christmas pictures of my kids.  I did 1 kid during the day with natural light from the window.  Her pictures came out soft and smooth.  The other kid was not cooperating, so I did not do his pictures until after dark.  I had to use the light from the ceiling light.  The pictures still worked, but they are more orange and harsh.

 

2nd lesson learned today.  Taking pictures of a 1 year old is impossible.  Or maybe it is that trying to learn to take pictures when the subject is a year old is impossible (I'm sure professionals could do it easy breasy)  To get him to hold still I had to feed him.  So he either has food in his mouth and holding still, or does not have food in his mouth and is moving!!  I had to do some photoshopping on the picture that turned out to be my favorite so you can't see a soggy cookie in his mouth.  I could re-do the smaller ones pictures during the day to get the same light as his sisters....but it will just be another fight!
